Sculptures and contemporary art to reclaim joy and simplicity in life
The 3500 Years wall sculpture is made out of 70 end pieces of reclaimed redwood, glued, doweled, carved and finished with Linseed Oil. Each piece shows about 50 growth rings - so the whole sculptures represents about 3500 years of tree growth.

Modern wall sculpture 3500 Years by Lutz Hornischer
Palmtrees in the Wind
This wall sculpture was inspired by the unique movement and energetic flow of the wood grain. I laminated three different layers of wood and then started carving long feathery lines to further expose and enhance the dynamic of the wood grain. It felt like the wood grain was tossed around like palm tree leaves in the wind. I finished the inside with Linseed Oil and the outside edge with black flat paint. Installed on a wall.
This wall sculpture explores the balance and boundary between the warm, shiny and flowery inside and the cold, matt and edgy outside - inspired by a volcano. It is made out of four layers of reclaimed redwood.
Volcano of Flowers is made out of 4 layers of reclaimed redwood, carved, sanded and finished with linseed oil and chalk paint. Installed on wall.
